Our July 2008 meeting featured Kris Hicks. Hats off to Kris for presenting Automator, his solution for increasing productivity at a Fortune-500 company. Using Merb, Watir, and other tools, Kris took a 15-minute business process and whittled it down to 13-seconds with few (some say zero) errors.

WindyCityRails Arrives Soon

July meeting attendees visited the future site of WindyCityRails after the meeting. Over eighty attendees have registered for the full-day conference. Speakers include Noel Rappin, author of the iPhone Rails plugin; David Chelimsky, lead developer of RSpec, and David Heinemeier Hansson, creator of Ruby on Rails. Location: IIT Chicago Campus, Room 123 of the Engineering 1 building near 31st & State Street. Parking is available across State Street; $4.00 for up to four hours.
