About the Unstructured Hackfest
Imagine a room full of Ruby on Rails enthusiasts solving problems, exchanging ideas, and learning. Clusters of folks will collaborate to find answers to questions. That’s what this hackfest is all about!
Please install & test Rails on your laptop before the meeting. Here are a few installation resources:
- Leopard comes with Rails pre-installed.
- Other Mac OS X users might like the Hivelogic method.
- Linux installation depends on the particular distribution.
- Windows users, the creators of Instant Rails say that their product will not modify your Windows system environment.
Yes, one hour is a tiny amount of time for a hackfest. Just enough time to get your feet wet. If members like the hackfest, maybe we can have a longer one at a future event.
This will be the first ChicagoRuby.org hackfest. If you have suggestions for improvements, stand and be heard! Mention your ideas at the meeting, or drop by the ChicagoRuby.org Google Group between meetings.
